Oh summer - July 23, 2015

Today was a pretty low key day. After swim we came home and did lunch (tuna sandwiches for everyone but Camilla; she  chose to have a cup of noodle). Then we went to CYC for Logan's gymnastics class at 1 pm. Afterwards we went to the library to return books. And get new books. We checked out 32 books.

I asked if the kiddos wanted to go to the library park and got a resounding yes for an answer. They loved playing there. And then asked me to take their picture.

(Insert small comment here: this little Miss  has been such a big helper this summer. She will buckle up kids, put on shoes, change sisters clothes, help Logan with homework, help keep Brina safe... You name it. I am truly sad she is going to be leaving us to go into third grade soon. I wish the school days were shorter!)

Back to the park: I snapped this picture while they weren't looking. They played with each other for a while. It was such a lovely sight. It truly helped me remember that, although it is fun to go to new places and check out new things during the summer, it is also fun to go back to the simple things. That playing together can be much more fun than exploring something new.  I am loving my summer with these crazies. Summer is too short and I wish it was longer. But I am happy for them. Kindergarten and third grade will be exciting for the little munchkins. I will just have to suck it up and deal with a quiet house 😭

Swimming and eclair - July 20, 2015

This was Brinas favorite thing to do at the kiddie pool today. Needless to say, it made me nervous. Yet she seemed to be in control all of the time.

And not only did I have one child for several hours... Hunter took all three to the bakery and brought back my favorite dessert, and told me I had ten minutes of kiddie free time to enjoy it. And I enjoyed it for sure!

Sometimes I wonder what I'd is to deserve such a helpful man. He truly is always thinking of ways to make my life easier. I truly appreciate that.

Dates 2 and 3

Last week I took Logan on a mommy-son date. We went bowling(one game, bumper bowing) and then had a Webdy's frosty. He loved having such a special time with me.

This week it was Sabrina's turn to go on a date. She wanted to go to a park and have ice cream... But today was an extremely hot day. So we compromised with McDonald's indoor playground, and a happy meal. Brina was sold!

Lesher center for the arts family day

We had THE best time. We watched the Crimson Pirate, and just loved being there together. Such a fun day!

Swim team, and freebies

Swim team photos. These two are loving swim team. Logan is getting more comfortable in his unassisted freestyle and backstroke, and Camilla knows all strokes... Now she is just refining them. They have improved by leaps and bounds and although at times it feels like such a big time commitment, I do not regret doing swim team this year.

Logan's pizza face at a recent meet.

Coach Daniel Vale playing with the 6 and unders. It was such a fun morning.

July 11 (7/11) brought us free 7/11 slurpees. We all got one and loved it!

And last but not eat, "eat more chicken" day at Chic-fil-a. So yummy! And free!

Fourth of July

This year, for the Fourth of July, we drove down to Livermore and had lunch with the Daily's. We had Chinese food. It was delicious :) and we even went swimming afterwards. The kiddos loved it.

Mommy/daughter date and swim team buddy night 2015

I decided to take Camilla on a date, just the two of us. We went bowling (two games: one without the bumpers and with them). Then we went to Wendy's and had some Frosties (Camilla's first time). It was fun!!

Buddy night was a fun evening for these kiddos. They had pizza, fruit, cookies, games, hand painting, and pictures taken with their buddies.  They lived every minute of it!

We love swim team!!

June 2015

National donut day brought free donuts! On our second attempt too! On our first attempt, weedy the store with a screaming Brina and a rather disappointed Logan... The line was way TOO long.
Pep talk right before a race.

We finished our Primary challenge! We read the scriptures, had family prayer and had family home evening for several weeks in a row!

And this little miss is now a Third grader!

Splash park fun!!

Fun with friends at Alameda Beach.

Saturday Soccer games came to an end. Logan loved having Parker in his team!

Swimming with friends.

More swim meets!

More swim practice!

Time trials - June 7, 2015

This past Saturday was a BUSY day. Daddy had to go to work and left our house around 4 am. Mom had to feed the kids breakfast (eggs, bacon and toast) and get them over to genringer pool before 8. And though we were rushing, we made it!

Camilla did the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly strokes.

Logan swam with the help of junior coach Miranda Jacobs.

Sabrina was attached to mommy the whole time (8 to noon). Mommy a arms were very sore afterwards.

Logan and Parker danced to the music and had a fun time!

Brina and Riley fought each other, and also played with each other. They are funny like that.

And Brina found a house, and had a blast playing with it.

And since the day wasn't busy enough, after naps we weeded the backyard as a family (while Brina pooped and jumped in the trampoline), had dinner (Brina skipped that), and then headed over to the denkinger building for Lauren Jacobs' baptism.

This was how daddy dressed Sabrina: with a very immodest dress! But at least we were on time. And Sabrina let Camilla do her hair, so I will take it!

This little munchkin has decided to fight is in everything! Mainly me too. But this too shall pass.
